Rooted Together is a community-centered initiative that brings neighbors, nonprofits, donors, and corporate partners together to celebrate local impact, shared values, and the power of collective giving over the course of two years.
The initiative prioritizes multi-year grantmaking and relationship building, providing organizations with the time and resources needed to deepen their impact and build lasting capacity in a specific neighborhood within Bernalillo, Valencia, Torrance or Sandoval counties.

Join Albuquerque Community Foundation and StreetVision at Mesa Verde Park for a community celebration and learn more about how StreetVision is putting community-driven housing strategies into action with support from the Rooted Together initiative. Plus, enjoy food, drinks, and family-friendly entertainment. Everyone is welcome to attend this free community event.
Before the celebration, we'll also be hosting a special Rooted Together Community Cruise aboard the ABQ Trolley. StreetVision’s Executive Director John Bulten will guide guests through several StreetVision projects in the International District, sharing the strategies, partnerships and community vision behind the work. Due to limited trolley capacity, RSVP will be required with seats available on a first come, first served basis.
We look forward to gathering in community and celebrating progress together.

2025-2026 Grantee: StreetVision
The Foundation is proud to support StreetVision Housing Strategies (StreetVision), previously known as East Central Ministries, as the first grantee of Rooted Together.
StreetVision is transforming Albuquerque’s International District through innovative, community-driven housing and land use solutions. Their housing development project, ID Rising, includes two properties that will provide 23 permanently affordable rental homes in the historically underserved neighborhood.
With support from the Rooted Together initiative, StreetVision is continuing to expand community engagement through neighborhood partnerships that elevate local voices and respond to emerging housing opportunities within the greater International District.
2027-2028 Grant Application
As Rooted Together continues to evolve, we remain committed to community-led decision-making, local knowledge, collaborative partnerships, and strategies designed to sustain change well beyond the initiative’s lifetime.
In our pilot grant cycle, we learned some good lessons, including the importance of more clearly communicating what place-based grantmaking looks like in practice and helping applicants better understand how their projects align with the initiative's goals.
As a result, we made an important change to the 2027–2028 grant application process by introducing a Letter of Intent (LOI). The LOI provided organizations with a simple, low-burden way to introduce their proposed project while allowing our review committee to assess its alignment with the goals of Rooted Together early in the process. Applicants whose proposals demonstrate a strong fit were invited to submit a full application.
The 2027-2028 Rooted Together Grantee will be announced in January 2027.
