Clarissa Earl grew up in the Pacific Northwest and has called the Land of Enchantment home since 2016. She joined the Albuquerque Community Foundation in 2022 after spending five years working in communications and development at Albuquerque-based nonprofit Crossroads for Women.

Clarissa has a master’s degree in journalism from DePaul University and a bachelor’s degree in English from Utah State University. In her free time, she enjoys writing, baking, watching baseball, and spending quality time with her husband, toddler son, two stepsons, and crazy yellow lab.

Meet Clarissa...

  • Red or green? Christmas
  • Mountain or River? Mountain
  • Comedy Club or Dance Club? Comedy Club
  • Hometown: Everett, WA
  • High School Mascot: Seagull
  • If you could have lunch with anyone alive or dead, who would it be? My mom. She passed away unexpectedly a few years ago and I miss her every day. There are so many things I want to talk to her about. We’d eat grilled cheese and tomato soup.
  • If you didn’t work for the Foundation, where would you work? I’d run my own bookstore or write for The Atlantic.
  • Name three songs you would include on your soundtrack of life: Murder in the City by The Avett Brothers, The Long Way Around by The Chicks, Oh, What a World by Kacey Musgraves.
  • What’s your favorite time of the year in New Mexico? Fall! I love the smell of chiles roasting and leaves crunching under my feet. Plus, the temperature is perfect.
  • What is a skill you’d like to learn? want to learn how to draw and bake pastries.
  • If you could witness any event of the past, present or future, what would it be? Jackie Robinson's MLB Debut
